Our Priority

Educational access for refugees is limited and uneven across regions and settings of displacement. Enrollment in primary school is only 76% globally and drops dramatically to 36% at secondary levels. Girls are at a particular disadvantage; in eastern Africa, only 5 girls are enrolled for every 10 boys. Refugee education is generally of very low quality, with indicators that measure inputs rather than outcomes and in many situations, the teacher-pupil ratios average is as high as 1:70

Access to education can determine the potential to improve their lives among refugee families/ people. As one of our programs, we provide children, youth and adults with opportunities to education that help keep them safe and learning the skills they need to survive and thrive by:

Provide skills to PWDs to enable them to acquire skills that make them able to earn a living. Also provide them with the required equipment’s and tools to help them improve on mobility and vision

Our Story

IRHRI was formed by a group of Human Rights and Social Development activists in Spokane, Washington, in response to critical socio-economic and political challenges in Africa

Cases We Handle

ASYLUM

We help people who are afraid to return to their home countries because they have suffered harm and/or have a well-founded fear of future harm because of who they are. This may include harm that is based upon their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or some other characteristic about themselves that they cannot change, such as their sexuality.

Psycho-Social Counseling

We offer an individual, family, or group for the purpose of improving well-being, alleviating distress, and enhancing coping skills.

International Protection

Conflicts around the world have forced over 25 million people to flee their homelands due to persecution because of who they are or what they believe.IRHRI helps refugees and other vulnerable persons find safety, freedom and stability.

RESSETTLEMENT SERVICES

Resettlement is a viable option for less than one percent of the more than 70 million people worldwide who were forced to flee their homelands due to persecution based on their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, gender or sexual orientation.IRHRI is proud to partner with local Refugee Assistance Organizations throughout the world to assist the refugees.
